This is something which must be put in place in any organisation regardless of size. We must endeavour to look after our "engine" so as to keep the wheels moving. Our "engine" is our people, the staff who greet our customers on a daily basis. If our "engine" is looked after then our customers will always be assured of the quality of service which they deserve. This is done by constantly monitoring our performance and offering training where needed. We have often seen it happen where a member of staff may not be carrying out their duties as expected and rather than offering help and encouragement some companies dismiss that member of staff without warning. However, if they had realised that they were now placing their "engine" at risk due to low morale in the workforce they may have acted differently.
